City Patrol

   The duties of the City Patrol are to circumvent problems between people in Prototerra. Not to intimidate or assume authority. This is the most difficult of all volunteer programs, the most sought after and the hardest to be selected for. Your job will be to keep Prototerra a relatively trouble free environment. Being able to handle crowd control is a must.

   The best City Patrol Volunteer is someone who first learns, then understands what really caused the problem then mediates it until the parties involved are as satisfied with the outcome as possible. There is a lot of training involved in this position before a badge is given and though you may be initially selected for training, that doesn’t insure you will get a badge.

   We’re looking for people who have a calm nature, are intuitive and process information fast and as accurately as possible. We don’t expect you to know how to handle adverse situations in a virtual world, we only need you to be able to once you’ve finished your training period.

   First rule: What you see people saying may not be what they meant. Probably one of the leading factors in problems between people in any world and magnified greatly in a virtual world.

   All Volunteers will be given training to help them better understand what they’re duties are and how to better and easier carry them out. No volunteer group is any less or more important than any other. Each is an integral part of a team of people who work together to make Prototerra the best place to be.

City Guide

   The City Guide will likely be in most cases the first encounter new people will have with Prototerra. That first impression is very important. You will be the ones to show new visitors not only how to get around and where to find things but more importantly, you will be the ones who let them know that at Prototerra we truly do believe the people are the most important part of it all. That they are not only welcome here but they are appreciated for being here. This group needs people who are people friendly and very patient. People who enjoy interacting with others and are upbeat and positive by nature.

Events Team

   This group of volunteers is all about the fun. Parties, games, contests, competitions and good times. We need really creative people who can come up with things that make being in Prototerra a lot of fun. You must also be very organized and good at managing and directing people. We need people who can think outside the box and normally do. People like actors, writers, involved in film making or any of the creative arts.

Assistant to the Justice of the Peace.

The justice of the peace performs weddings and when disputes or disagreements cannot be solved by the City Patrol the people involved have the right to ask for mediation by the Justice of the Peace. This needs someone who is organized and excellent with details and planning and preparing all things needed for the office of the Justice of the Peace

   If you would like to earn money selling advertising in this newspaper we pay on a commission basis and you work at your own pace.

   We have additional opportunities in other business areas for sales people on a commission basis. There is tremendous potential to earn a good income for the right person.

   Prototerra Times is a privately owned and operated in-world only  newspaper.
